Scab from birth monitor 'clip' still there at 10 weeks

Shouldn't this have gone by now.

Now I know they call it a clip but it is really a prong the stab the baby in the head with so they can monitor them (and make sure the are ok, which I am fine with btw).

Surly it doesn't go in that deep though and should have gone by now. Even without his hair being washed ( it fell out shortly after birth). He only has oil on his head and it rubbed with oily water in his bath which is every other day (to avoid dry skin).

Has anyone else had this or have any thoughts? Not something I feel I should bother the Doctor with.

Thank you.

I seem to remember DS had a scab for ages after this, not sure how long before it healed but it has left a little scar. Not much help, sorry!

Thank you Rubber. Seems odd that it has stayed on so long.

DD's stayed for a while too. She also has a scar.

Ours lasted a while, I used a wash cloth to gently exfoliate the area in the bath ( read: gave it a good rub) and it started to come away.

Dd is 4 now and still has some scars from her scalp clips. Thankfully they are hidden by her lovely blonde hair now!

It will no doubt fall off eventually when it's ready. Congratulations! Flowers
