Does anyone know what's causing these red patches?

Here is DS,

He's had these red patches around his eyes all day, they're a lot more prominent than in the picture, he looks like a Panda!

Some kind of contact allergy? Suncream?

Sun cream? I get red bits and my eyes water with some sun creams.

Do they itch? I would guess allergy too. You could try some antihistamine, even if you can't pin down the cause at least it would calm everything down.

He's not had any sun cream today, he's been in most the time, he's never had this before but has used sun cream loads.

He's not eaten anything new today, he's played briefly in a field of freshly cut grass, could that be it? He's had a bit of a runny nose for a couple of days.

It seems to be getting worse but isn't bothering him.

I've only got Piriton for Kids which is 6+ he's not even 2 yet.

I took him to the pharmacy and they said it is an allergy rash (most likely plant) and they've given me some Benadryl suitable for his age.
