lump under nipple

My dd has a lump under one of her nipples she is 7? Anyone else experienced this? It is a little sore no other symptoms and all healthy otherwise. Could it be hormone related? I have an older daughter so have some experience with puberty etc but think 7 is a little young? Any advice appreciated. Thankyou.

It does sound like pre breast development, but I agree that 7 is very young.

Is she otherwise big/tall for her age?

I would say she is average height compared to her classmates but the other thing is she does have proper body odour which she has had for a year or two and is very aware of it, took her to docs and he said it was normal x

I think body odour is quite common. My DD certainly had it at around 8.

I'd mention the nipple lump to the doctor. It's probably also nothing to worry about but at least it'll be on her notes so they can the doctor can keep an eye on it.

I don't think body odour at five and a half /six is normal. It's the beginning of adrenarche which is the precursor to puberty. I could be wrong but I think at this age, it's worth getting a second opinion from a doctor.

OP, the Child Growth Foundation is a charity which deals with lots of different growth issues, including precocious puberty.

They have a website and a helpline number. You could phone them and ask for advice. The website is //www.childgrowthfoundation.org and the helpline number is 020 8995 0257, staffed by parents and very friendly.
