7 year old having wetting when using a trampoline

Hi,

Wondered if anyone had experience of this? DD2 is 7 at the end of the summer and three times last week she leaked wee when she was using a trampoline. She didn't admit it at first but has now and it has happened before - neighbours trampoline not ours.

She isn't yet dry overnight -can do 5 dry nights sometimes in a row but no longer - so we are going to the GP for a referral around her birthday for that as they won't do one before then.

In the meantime I have said to go to the loo before using a trampoline.

Anyone had experience of someone so young with this kind of bladder control issue?

Umm, well I can have this problem due to damage to my pelvic floor when giving birth. Blush

Does your dd sometimes wet herself if she coughs or sneezes. Sounds like she might have what used to be known as a 'weak bladder'

Should add that yes, children can have this. I had a friend who would wet herself if laughing hard or sneezing when I was little.

Is she putting off going to the toilet during the day because she is too busy?

My 8 year old dd has been dry day and night since 2.5 but she still goes through phases of holding on too long because she doesn't want to to stop what she is doing. She has occasional wet herself because of this - she has just left it too late to make it to the toilet.

I imagine bouncing with a full bladder could lead to accidents.

Yes and yes to both your posts!!!

I asked her about the laughing and sneezing. She does occasionally slightly leak when doing these. She reckons every few weeks.

Yes, she has always out off going to the toilet for as long as possible.

Just worried if she has a weak bladder at 7 what would it be like after she has kids.....I have had 4 via natural delivery and my bladder muscles are better than hers at the moment??

I had a weak bladder when I was a kid but have now had 3dc and it's pretty decent - she needs to do her pelvic floor exercises! Made a big difference to me.
