Hi, I thought my dd 2.1 had developed nappy rash, she had two large clusters of angry red spots along the nappy line and on bum cheeks but it has spread to her knees, ankles, elbows a little bit and a few on feet and the odd one on hands, not really anywhere else just a couple tiny spots. Some of the spots just look like little red raised ones and some fluid filled. Doctor just said it's a viral thing, I'm 30 weeks pregnant and he didn't seem concerned about that. Anyone any experience of this? Thanks

Could it be hand foot and mouth?

My dd had it and also had it in her nappy area and none in her mouth (that we could see )

Moloscum? My dd had this for years and it kept being misdiagnosed as excema. It just took time to get rid of it, although apparently if one bursts it sets of an immune reaction and the others go too.

Thanks, there's nothing in mouth that doctor saw and it's not really dominant on hands or feet (if it needs to be for hfam) and doesn't look like moloscum. Maybe it's too early to tell, doctor even said it could turn into chicken pox in next day or two.

Sorry I assumed chicken pox had been ruled out. My dd's spots appeared over a few days then virtually multiplied before my eyes, so could be that too.

Guess I'm just surprised about the very specific areas they have appeared. Hate it when they say it's just a viral thing I'd prefer to know what I'm dealing with, I'm a tad paranoid at the moment being pregnant. At least I've had chicken pox Smile

My dd1 had chicken pox when I was about 14 weeks pregnant with dd2. The midwife was not concerned and it was no problem. I had had it badly as a child.

I found it easy to manage - dd2 was just past her first birthday. It meant I could put baby gros on her and she could not scratch.

Time will tell I guess. Will have to ask her nursery if anything is going round, although may be a stupid question, there's always something Grin
