My dd has a condition that affects this, I can't remember which aspect of her condition it causes though! I think it's salt balance? Anyway her body can't retain salt so she takes a medicine to do this for her.

It's congenital adrenal hyperplasia. But it has other symptoms too so I don't want you to Google and scare yourself! There is a support group called CLIMB who are really good, they have a phone line for advice.

How old is your child?

Thanks used.

She is about to turn 5, she has other health probs too. Eosinophilic GI disease .

She has had low sodium since being a baby , but we were told we were giving her too much fluids, and seizures since age 2, no cause found.

Our paed was looking through her hospital notes last week and found three years ago they tested her aldesterone and it low but accident,y signed off as being normal! Absolute nightmare.

So we have an appt this wednesday to see endocrine specialist as our local paediatrician doesnt know what to do.

Be good in a way if someone can join all her issues together.

Hope your daughter is doing ok

Thanks

Oh that sounds as if it will soon be sorted. My dd was diagnosed at ten days as she has the severe form but there are milder forms which happen later on. And even with the severe form she is mostly really healthy we just have to be careful when she gets ill and if weather is hot.

Fingers crossed you get some answers soon, our endocrine Dr is amazing hopefully yours will give you the info you need.good luck with it allx
