DD really grumpy a few days ago, felt a bit hot, has had cold. Then day 1: 2 spots suddenly appeared on vulva, a bit icky looking, I thing soggy due to wet nappy.

Day 2:AM Lots of red spots appear on buttock. Not raised just red marks on skin.

Day 2: PM red spots now slightly raised

Day 3( today) red spots on buttock slightly blistered looking. Other buttock has developed crop of red marks.

The spots don't seem to bother DD, she's not trying to scratch or anything.

She already has molluscum contagiosum (I think) buts uses had that for years and the spots for that come up really slowly.

DD is two.

She has also recently started wearing new big girl pants that weren't prewashed so possible irritation?

The blistering sounds like chicken pox.
Do google images and take a look.

Am trying to remember the name of a good website that had good pictures of rashes...but I can't recall it now.

Could be something else I suppose.

Medical websites will often tell you where the first blisters tend to appear.
That's how I knew we all had it as well as from the blistering.

Ds had it when he was 2 and it was very mild.

The being hot a few days ago might be a sign too.

I remember feeling ill and ds was ill for a few days with no rash.
When the spots came we all felt much better.

According to website it usually starts on back/torso, but when I had it it started on my bum too.

Rash looks much less blistery and a bit smaller than in images, but the two spots on her vulva look similar to some burst pox images.

She has never had anything like this before so I don't think it is nappy rash. I presume I shouldn't take her to the doctor...

One of the sites says I should take her to the doctor - I thought this was a non no as she will be infectious?

Could be hand, foot and mouth rather than chicken pox, as these can start on bottom area. If it is chicken pox, there will almost always be spots on the trunk area as well.

I dont think its HFM? No spots in any of those areas....

Today the first spots have scabbed over, the second lot have blistered and then third lot is starting to blister. Seems to fit chickenpox progression, but has not spread beyond vulva/buttocks, maybe about 30 spots?

I'm thinking maybe mild chickenpox but not very sure. Spots don't bother her but she is snotty and sleeping badly.

Probably is then. My DD1 only had it very mildly, just waiting for DD2 to succumb!

Hmm, very mildly means she will get it again?

'almost every case of chickenpox, no matter how mild, leads to lifelong protection against further attacks'
I googled and got this from here:
medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/chickenpox
So hopefully not!
