mild nausea for a week. To the doctor or not?

DS is 7. He was sent home from school last Thursday with a temperature and mild nausea. The temp didn't last but the nausea is still there after a week.

He's still eating and drinking.
He hasn't been sick at all.
A little diarrhoea on the first day.
I think he may be constipated now.
He's less energetic, but still pootling around, doing jigsaws etc.

So tomorrow is his 6th day off school should I take him to the doctor? What could they do? I keep thinking it will pass but it hasn't.

Any advice?

I think purely because he has missed so much school I'd take him to get checked.

Is he too ill to go to school or are you worried he'll be sick.

thanks Bea, I know what you mean, it's too long to be off school.

I do think it's genuine, it's very out of character for him not to want to go to school. He's in Yr2 and has only had one or two days off before.

I don't think he'll be sick as he hasn't so far.

What can cause nausea to last for so long? Doesn't it usually pass in a couple of days?

Its probably a virus. I had blardy nausea, knackered feeling from Friday to Tuesday so a good 4/5 days this week. It completely knocked me out, pathetic though it sounds! I miraculously woke up this morning feeling a lot better, hopefully he will too.
