It's just weird. As she is not being sick, and has an appetite for bland foods (whats new). Has no energy at all. I keep wondering why she hasn't vomitted. Though I did have this a few weeks ago thinking about it.

Lots of bugs going round school, including the norovirus thing. anyone has the same, out there?

Hi there. DS2 (10) is at home today. He said he felt a bit sick yesterday, then has been on the loo with tummy upset since 6am. He says he's freezing cold and looks pale..

School say they don't want him back til Monday.

Dd has tonsilitis.

Headache, then fever, then lethargy. All three come and go. Started Monday - still on the sofa. She's 7.

My 13 yr old has been home for over a week now. No fever, no cold shivers or hot sweats but lethargic, no appetite (that's when I knew he was ill!), looks dreadful, hacking cough and runny nose, aching muscles, basically flu-like but without the temperature. Weird and horrid, and just doesn't seem to be getting any better.

Lots of it about.

My 11 yr old dd had similar last week, off school tues, thurs and fri with banging headache and stomachache, tired, lethargic, but nothing else, no temperature. Must be going round.

Sad Pirate. DS seems fine. No more episodes on the loo and is talking about going to football training. Confused Yet school don't want him tomorrow....

it's tricky isn't it. dd hasn't even thrown up, just feeling sick and has lost a whole week now. her attendance has always been crap, and i was only congratulating us on the fact she's done really well healthwise this term.

I just don't know what to do Pirate. He's just gone to football training, so keeping him off school tomorrow seems ridiculous. Confused

I am wondering now if it was just something he ate that went straight through.

My DS 12 went back to school on Wednesday after a week of feeling sick, coughing horribly, being totally lethergic and looking grey.

He went back to school when he was well enough to argue with me Xmas Grin

we ve got the vampire one too Pirate. DD (4)started with a high temp on tues night then has just alternated between looking a bit better and looking like death. shes laid on the sofa since then, wakes in night crying complaining of pains in arms/legs. A tiny bit of vomit this morning after a drink of water only water came out). i wonder how long it will last. half the school are off and they have confirmed norovirus

she had an episode of vomiting about two weeks ago, puked all night then laid on sofa for 2 days

I feel sorry for all the kids missing out on all the christmas stuff poor things

Well I did send him in in the end. He was fine. He went to footy training on Thursday night and had the energy to be cheeky and row with us. Grin

I am sure it wasn't a bug. I wouldn't have sent him in if I thought it was.

I am bracing myself for this sort of thing over Christmas.

I was just going to post the same thing! DS1 aged 10 been off for a week, sick twice, tonsillitis, chest infection, over the worst, but so grey and washed out, half an appetite, so snotty. Trying to temp him with fave foods, just picks, lethargic. Good to know others are in the same boat but wish everyone a speedy recovery! So wish we could jet off into some sunshine!

carocaro, i hope your ds recovers soon too. dd is still feeling a bit sick tbh, but it's taking it's time to go!

she had no other symptoms, very odd. x

DS had this for a week - he is only small so I didn't know how bad he felt til I caught it and was in bed for nearly a week, didn't eat or drink for 5 days, felt horrible. Everyone at my uni has it as well, think its a form of noro.

Bunbaker · 09/12/2012 18:55

DD had this earlier this year. She sat with a sick bowl on her knee for a week, but wasn't sick. In the end I contacted the doctor who said it was an unspecified virus.

niceupthedance, sorry to hear you had it too. and bunbaker, sounds just like my dd.

she is fine today, it lasted 7 days. so there we go. a 'virus' and a weird one.
