I don't know what to do since my son was a month old he has developed a cyst under his left eye eyelidquite big and you can feel it. Now and again his eye will go slightly red and you can notice his left eye is slightly smaller then the right i have now taken him to the doctors 4times and they keep saying they will not do anything until it affects his eye. I find this so wrong i want it tested and i want it out to prevent any problems. Can anyone help with this i would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance :)

Hi, can you describe it a bit more? What are your concerns? A lot of eyelid cystic lesions resolve spontaneously. Honestly you really don't want to go mucking about with surgery and eyes unless it's sight threatening, you could cause more harm than good and the scar could be worse than the lump.

Its at the corner of his eyelid so you see that its in the way when he opens his eye. Sometimes his eye goes all red. And the lump feels soft it doesnt seem to cause him any pain but im worried it will affect his eye. Surely if there is a lump they would need to take it out and test it??

No please don't worry, you sound very anxious! Like I said cystic swellings can come and go, there is no chance of it bring anything nasty hence there is no need to take it out and examine it. Eyes and eyelids are so delicate, any eye surgery is only done if the risks outweigh the benefits. No ophthalmologist would go near a babies eye for something like that, imagine the margin of error if there was a complication. A cyst would have to be huge to affect the eye itself, they don't often come to much! If you like you can massage gently or try a warm compress but otherwise leave well alone and enjoy your baby.
