DD due to have operation on Thursday of this week. Last Wed she came down with a bad cough/cold. The cough is pretty much gone and cold seem to be well on the way out. Will the cancel the operation? She has no temperature and her chest seems clear? She's been off school and eating etc as normal.

I think she will be ok. Obviously tell them but if it's just the dregs of a cold with no temp then I think they will operate. Though does depend on the op.

Hope all goes ok.

We're like you!
My son will have surgery next Friday to remove tonsils and today started with fever and cold :(
I think she will be really better and I hope everything goes well for you.

If she's basically better you should be fine. When DD2 was in earlier this year the anaesthetist seemed to be happy with children who were mostly over their colds, were breathing fine and weren't chesty - it was those who were really full of cold who were getting bounced back.
