DS loved Skullduggery trilogy. What can I follow this with??

(12 Posts)
Eureka!! My DS aged 11 seems to have finally got the reading bug, thanks to Derek Landy! But he's almost finished the 3rd and last book in the Skullduggery trilogy so need to find something similar fast. Any ideas???

Artemis Fowl rules! My 12 year old likes the Ranger's Apprentice books, also Hiccup the Viking, Redwall, the Shadowmancer series, Mortal Engines, The Edge Chronicles, Alex Ryder, the Fire thief trilogy by Terry Deary, Spiderwicke,

My other boys liked Garth Nix , the ones with the days of the week, anything by Robin JArvis, Cliff McNish, Broken Sky, Phillip Pullman, THe Diamond brothers (Anthony Horowitz) The Windsinger books by William Nicholson, Famous Five (yes really), Series of Unfortunate Events, Bartimaeus Trilogy, Septimus Heap.

Artemis Fowl books are the best books that I have come across for boys this age, I have been buying them since they were first published and all my kids have loved them. I really liked Windsinger books, as well. Diamond brothers are hilarious and a nice change if your DS likes mystery (sort of) books.
DS also likes these

Spooks Apprentice by Joseph Delaney

ds1 loved Skullduggery Pleasant (he gave it 5 stars - he rates all his books hmm) and has thoroughly enjoyed the Rangers' Apprentice series, which also gets 5 stars

as do Mortal Engines, Alex Rider, Artemis Fowl, first two Inkheart (but InkDeath was turgid apparently)

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]
For a shocked face, , type [shock]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
