Hi Everyone

Please could you recommend a story for children between 2 and 5?

It needs to be...
-Educational or moralistic
-Have plenty of colourful pictures
-A lovely story for parents to enjoy aswell
-Something you could read over and over again

I'd really appreciate any suggestions.

Thankyou very much.
Pip x

Get hold of Dorothy Butler's "Babies Need Books". It has the most comprehensive lists of great stories for 0-5's.

something by shirley hughes.. the alfie books or perhaps Dogger, that is a lovely tale of a boy who loses his much loved dog (dogger). Everyone looks everywhere..It turns up on the toy table at school fair but before he can buy it back, another girl buys it. His very kind sister swaps a teddy she has won for Dogger so he can have it back. I love reading it, has lovely pics and can have much discussion with dc's about alot of the themes - sadness, kindness etc

Have a look at the StoryBox Books as these are aimed at children aged 3-6 and come out every month, are always educational and moralistic (in line with the national curriculum) each month have new illustrators so have lots of great colourful pictures and my kids love them and so do I!
