Please help me find this book!

Hoping the power of Mumsnet can help me find a childhood favourite...

This book was one of those with a story for every day of the year, but each tale or poem was from a different country. They were all linked by a little character I think was called Koo Koala, who set off from Australia to see the world in a hot air balloon (some of the stories were postcards to his friends).

Although I was pretty sure it was called Journey (or Voyage?) Around the World, I am struggling to find it anywhere. I suspect it's out of print now, but even on Abebooks, Alibris, etc there are thousands of books with similar titles, so without being sure of the exact title, I'm starting to go round in circles (and slowly go mad).

Does anyone remember it? My fingers are crossed!!!

girlandboy, I think you've found it!!! Hmmm, obviously spelling wasn't my strong point back then, I was so sure it was Koo, and nothing was coming up . And Koa kind of makes more sense!

Off to do a bit of searching to see if I can find a cover pic...

Thanks girlandboy, I'm really delighted you found it. My dad carbooted my copy when I went to uni - I can still remember loads of the stories so clearly and just know dd1 would love it.

Tip to self - do NOT EVER carboot dc's favourite books. Even if they are 20 and moved out 2 years ago leaving two decades of junk in their room.

You don't want to get me started on the collection of original My Little Ponies that met the same fate .

You're welcome.

I work in a library so I'm used to searching for books.
