need to chose another bedtime book - we just read the bfg and dd cried because it is finished!

dd is 5 1/2. I got fed up with reading the same short stories every night, so thought we'd go for something with chapters. We loved the bfg. But I was thinking of trying something non-roald dahl, because otherwise she'll get fixated and refuse to read anything else.

Oh - and I found charlottes web and pippi L a tad dull!

I'd love some brilliant suggestions please!

thanks verily!

Aww- poor dd- I know how she feels, it's horrid when you finish a good book!

My 5 1/2 yo dd likes Peter Pan, Faraway Tree, and of course Roald Dahl! Just finished Alice in Wonderland, but itdidn't go down as well as I would have thought- wasn't as good as I remembered it, somehow!

These?
DD used to love them but I was not too keen.

All my DCs love Roald Dahl books!

Thanks for your suggestions. I guess the amazing thing about dahl is they keep me entertained too. I got a secret seven at the charity shop on the way home - so i'll see how that goes down!

The Wombles chapter books are great. I found some 'new' ones that I hadn't read as a child, dd loved them all too and there are quite a few.

We're currently reading Worzel Gummidge but the chapters are too long!
