Anyone remember Cherry Ames books?

Reading through some of the threads here has made me all nostalgic for the books of my childhood . Does anyone remember Cherry, she was a nurse, American possibly? she got up to lots of spiffing adventures and always had shiny cheeks. I must have been given a load of these books, I recall they were red hardbacks with lovely thick paper......

Yes, I read these. They were my mums' and she passed them on to me. For much of the series she was an army nurse during World War II ISTR.

i do !! i used to read them at my late grandmother's house, i think they went to the charity shop when she moved house though. remember her being told off for wearing make up on th eward, but it was her naturally red cheeks! so wholesome!!

Hey - i read one! IIRC It was where she was looking after a man who had lost his memory after some kind of trauma - she nursed him back to health and solved his mysterious amnesia.

I had loads of them at one point when I was collecting career books.

They don't sell for much - loads on Abebooks

I had these (must also look on ebay). One question though, who can remember her boyfriend's name?!

Never read these, but have all of the similar Sue Barton nursing series.

I read one, but can't remember much about it. She might have been being a private nurse to some invalid or other in the one I read (or she might not and I could be completely imagining that)

Trixie Belden was mentioned on that link!

Sorry, nothing to do with Cherry Ames.

Surely her boyfriend was Jim. That's what I recall anyway but I must admit Cherry Ames is dimmer in my mind than the Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew OR the Three Investigators!

I still have one of these at my parents house.
