I was Jo of course until she married that revolting Bhaer man. Then it had to be Amy, sily girl though she was.

I wanted to be Jo, but my older sisters would only allow me to be Beth or Amy, as they bagged Meg and Jo. So, early death or spoilt-bratness? Hmm....

"until she married that revolting Bhaer man"

Ditto. I married my Laurie. Travesty that she didn't.

I wanted to be Jop. But also Beth. I have a split personality

Ha, I knew practically everyone would say Jo. Loisa May Alcott based Jo on herself.

Im a bit Meg, a bit Amy but without the 'being pretty' bit. a bit Jo, but no Beth.

Jo without a doubt. But Mr Bhaer is lovely, even though I still always have a little sigh when Jo refuses Laurie.

On a tangent - DD1 would have been Laurie, had she been DS!

Don't know which I am but Jo is the best one, easili. Bhaer v v v v strange. He gets a troubled kid to beat him at one point, iirc.

I'd like t be as good and nice as Beth. But I have neither.
Probably Amy without the prettyness. Although I do have a nice nose.

In my pious early teens I liked to think I was Beth. But I was probably a mixture of Amy and Jo. Agree, Jo definitely the best one, especially when she cuts off her hair.

Jo, of course. But she should have married Laurie.

March, no?

Not mad on any of them really.

Was there a slutty one?
Report
LadyGlencoraPalliser · 14/04/2009 19:51

Nope. Though I always thought Amy might have been a bit of a goer if she had had the chance.

Oh No! I don't have and Al(cott)ter ego then! Amy was all below the surface iirc. Whereas I was quite upfront and personal.

It might have sent the narrative in unexpected directions. 'Now Jo, you know full well there's no rubbing-alcohol to mend that scratch you got clambering over the brier-hedge! Onebat drank it all weeks ago!'

Jo, naturally. Who married Laurie in a parallel universe.

Ever since I read Jasper Fforde I've always thought Amy would be on a BookWorld hitlist.
