DD's friend is having her first baby, and DD is going to a Baby shower for her next week. She said the new Mum-to-be has loads of clothes and suggested we bought some baby books

I wanted to buy them all! Good job they were 3 for 2.

I got:
The Very Busy Spider
Dear Zoo
Guess how much I love you
Where's Spot?
The Tiger who came to tea
A large shiny counting book.

I would also have got (if funds allowed) Each PEach Pear Plum, Going on a Bear Hunt, Hungry Caterpillar and sooo many more......

What would you choose for a baby with no books yet?

Dear Zoo is lovely - I remember this from when my brother was a toddler.

DS (12mo) is loving two books called My Mum and My Dad by Anthony Browne.

Also there is a great book by Dorling Kindersley called My First Words which is just a collection of photos organised into themes. DS has enjoyed turning the pages and looking at the photos himself ever since he was given it at 9mo. As the pages are broken into topics (e.g. Food, House, Park, Beach) it means I can easily look at it with him making up stories or discussing what we did that day pointing at the pictures as we go - e.g. when we went to the Park today you went on the swings and played on the grass, and then when we walked home we looked at all the trees.
