It's my son's birthday soon and we will have a few of hisfriends over, and we will do a few songs and I would like to tell a couple of stories. Can anyone recommand books that are easy to read to a small group of kids that age, that I might be able to complement with props, sounds, etc... Peace at last is a good one, maybe the Hungry Catepillar, any other suggestions?

Many thanks!

We're going on a bear hunt was always a big fave at pre-school, with lots of joining in! Or Owl Babies.

Pumpkin Soup is fab.

And there's a book called If You're Happy and You Know It which is full of all kinds of animals making noises - great fun for the kids to join in with.

I was going to say 'Going on a Bear Hunt' too. Also All Change is lovely because there's lots of animals and modes of transport, and it's all about the tiger's birthday. It rhymes and has the refrain 'All Change!' which they can join in with.

'don't let the pigeon drive the bus' - they can have a good shout as the pigeon pleads...
