Children's stories for my fabulous baby gift!!

My SIL is due in September so I have plenty of time to put together my fabulously creative and thoughtful gift!!!

I want to put together a selection of 4-5 fantastic stories onto CD, with various members of the family reading each story. She lives away from parents and siblings, so I think this would be rather nice.

I would put the CD in with a hardback copy of each book.

I'm thinking stories that read well, rather than depending on pictures. I have the Snail & The Whale and Guess How Much I Love You as ideas...

Hit me with yours please?!

The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom are great for reading aloud.
Green Eggs and Ham would be a must, and Fox in Sox if one of your family members is brave enough.
