Is it easy to use? Is it one of those book clubs where they send you books and you return them if you don't want them? Not sure whether to use it or not. Thanks

don't waste your money - book people or the red house much much better ( not clubs, buy as and when you want)

bfc - I joined when dd1 was a baby, taken in by cheap joining offer, but then it seemed every option after that was at least £10, usually more.

use book people or red house (which i think are the same company..red house being the childrens department). they are cheaper and you only buy when you want to instead of having to buy from every catalogue.

agree with hana. You have to buy at least one set of books a month for a certain no. of months. And they are a PITA to leave. So I would avoid.

Don't touch them! I signed up and then despite saying I didn't want a particular editor's choice they would still send them to me. Cue loads of hassle sending books back. It took me months to get my name removed from their mailing list and even now I still get the odd phone call.

I use them -- joined, bought four things in first year. You don't have to buy anything else but do need to remember to tell them you don't want the editor's choice (which you can do online, so no biggie so long as you are organised). Not great value though, so I'll probably quit when I get round to it.

Yes definitely check out book people or red house. Having said that i've been a member of bfc a few times (eldest dc is 9 & I have older nephews and the joining bargains are great. I;ve never had a problem 'leaving them' or being sent books i didnt want, as p and l said you just hae to be organised

Same experience as Roobie, kept getting send the Editors choice and they don'te e-mail you to tell you it's time to chose they just send them out and you still have to pay the £3 for p&p.

Red House and Book People are much better value for money, and it's free p and p. BFC was a great starter offer, but most books after that were at least £10 and magazines came out more frequently than once a month. It wasn't a problem to leave though - just involved writing to them once and they stopped all contact.
