Audiobook suggestions for car trips with children?

Last summer we drove to Montenegro and back and listened to the Harry Potter books, read by Stephen Fry. Everyone was enthralled even though most of us had read them before.
This year we are driving to Denmark and Sweden.
The kids are now 6,8,11 and 12.
What could we listen to this time around?

Roald Dahl cd collection, our favourite(my nn is a bit of a giveaway) the Book People will sell you 29 cds in a tin for £20, cheap at twice the price!

Also Martin Jarvis reading Just William has kept us sane happy over many thousands of miles.
It'll probably be many Dr Who cds this year too, The Works had a nice set boxed in a Tardis, I also spotted a Mr Gumm collection read by Kate Winslet last time I was in.

We've just done The Neverending Story. It's long and kept the DSs entertained for hours and hours. They've also enjoyed some of the Michael Morpurgo box sets. Adolphus Tips was a particular favourite.

The Golden Compass, Subtle Knife, etc. Fantastically well read.

David Walliams' books are good. He narrates them himself, sometimes with Matt Lucas. It's not a novel but the BBC comedy series Cabin Pressure is great to listen to.

Northern lights (golden compass) series is fantastic but I would have thought too old for your youngest.

We've done the Roald Dahl tin on previous journeys.
Michael Morpurgo and The Golden Compass series are good ideas.

Stephen Fry reads Paddington.
For silliness Cows in Action series.
From the left field - Old Yeller the famous American story about a dog(CD bought from Waterstones online). DS 9 enjoyed it.
If you Amazon search BBC childrens audio there are some fantastic full cast dramatisation CD's of classics eg Treasure Island, Alice in Wonderland.

The how to train your dragon audiobooks are good. They're read by david tenant. My 14 year old happily listens to them in the car.

DS1 really enjoyed the earthsea series as audiobooks when he was younger.

And terry Patchett audiobooks also go down well with my two.

The whole family (especially DH and I) love the Martin Jarvis Just William, so funny!

My kids are 6, 4 and 2 (it sends her to sleep).

Will defo try some of these suggestions as driving to France this year.

Another vote for Cabin Pressure from me. Audio books enjoyed by us on long journeys also include Stephen Fry reading Harry Potter, the Hobbit and Eva Ibbotson's books, including Journey to the River Sea..

My kids are 8 (boy) and 6 (girl). We constantly have talking books in the car! Recent favourites are:
Famous Five
Fizzlebert Stump by A.F Harrold - very Dahlesque in humour
SWITCH series by Ali Sparkes read by Daniel Hill, very funny
Invasion of the Christmas puddings by Jeremy Strong, v funny
What about Stormbreaker or Artemis Fowl?
