Can't find a age guide anywhere! Are all the Adrian Mole books suitable for 11yr old dd?

There are 'sexual references' but nothing very explicit. But to be honest I don't think an 11-year-old would get that much out of it - you need to be a knowing older teen or parent to really find it funny by reading between the lines. It helps if you were around in the 80s so know the background in terms of current affairs (Thatcher, miners, Falklands etc). A preteen would probably just read it as a straight diary and not find it very funny.

(I have an advanced-reader 11-year-old and I wouldn't bother getting her to read it).

Thank you. She really enjoyed the first one which she just finished. I don't know if she "got" all the references or not though. I read them years ago but can't really remember them. She's asked for the next one & I just wanted to check it wasn't inappropriate. It's very "easy" redding for her but given she has just read Nelson Mandella's autobiography I don't mind her reading light books too as she switched between light and heavy reads. I do mind inappropriate content though!
