I do love Kipper! The pictures are gorgeous. We already have a copy of this story, but would love one of these special edition copies to give to school.

I didn't apply for this book as we already have it and love it. Mick Inkpen's illustrations are so friendly and are filled with humour. My DD particularly likes this story as she loves birthdays and parties.

She especially likes seeing Kipper make the higgledy-piggledy cake and then eat it all Grin The big mistake is also a brilliant 'Oh no!' moment that pulls her into the story. And the running joke of Tiger being a grey dog also tickles her. This is a fab story and really enjoyable to read together.

I have a kipper cross stitch in my bedroom. The sandcastle pic. I'm a bit sad that both of the boys have outgrown him, now. DS1 insisted on a kipper story almost every bedtime, around his second birthday :o

I got my book today. It's a lovely big book with large pictures. My son loves pointing out each character. I love the story of kipper organising his birthday and inviting his friends with a little twist at the end. He is such a loveable character. Kipper is always a favourite in our house!

We got our copy today - it's much bigger, glossier and more pristine than our existing version! And DS2 claims that I haven't read it to him before - I'm sure I must have, but clearly not enough.

The pictures are gorgeous, and DS liked the story, although I think the bit about the invitations saying tomorrow instead of today passed him by. He says his favourite bit is where Kipper eats the whole cake.

We're looking forward to passing the book on to his class on Monday. And I will make sure I read him our copy some more. As an aside, I found our copy of "The Little Kipper Collection" and that was great for him to read by himself. He's at the stage of being able to sound out most common words, but still being daunted by too many words on a page. So the Little Kipper stories are just right for him (and so much more fun to read than Biff and Chip!)

And another thing - we have a tape of Dawn French reading some of the Kipper stories that I found in the charity shop a few years ago. I've just checked, and you can get it on cd from Amazon for about 5. I'd really recommend it - partly because her voice is so lovely, but mainly because she reads them like she's telling you about a favourite nephew who has done something a bit silly. I always try to emulate her tone when I read the stories.

This is a lovely book about friendship with wonderful colourful illustrations. Hard to believe the books have been going for so long but as the stories are all timeless can see them being around for a long while yet and enjoyed by many future generations. This is earmarked for someone already. Many thanks.

My book's arrived - I say 'my', it was quickly commandeered by my son who really liked reading it. He's three and has watched Kipper on TV but we've never had any of the books. We had to sit and read it straight away and although he didn't really understand the timing of the party he loved the look of the cake (he's a big fan of cherries too). Glad to see Kipper is going strong after 25 years and it's a great book to read to kids.

I missed the postie on Friday so opted to collect the book on Saturday.

I've been familiar with Kipper since I was younger and must admit I've never bought the books for my children or for nephews/nieces.

The illustrations were fun and quirky; the story was cute - organising his own birthday party.

My children liked looking at the pictures and being read to. My son's reading is coming along so he was pre-empting some of the words!

Thank you so much for sending us a copy.

DS loved this. It was an interesting story - showing how "tomorrow" moves according to which day you are - and the drawings are really well done.

We have loved our new book. My head hurt after the first read as my son decided to ask a lot of questions about why the days were wrong and why do we use today/tomorrow/yesterday! We have read this book every day since and he always finishes saying silly kipper.
Lovely pictures, text is a perfect size to follow my finger as I read. The story length is just right.
