May Picture book of the month brings a new adventure from Axel Scheffler's favourite toddlers, Pip and Posy. The Little Puddle is the perfect story if you're tackling toddler training but also a book to delight all toddlers, pre-schoolers and adults because of the beautiful illustrations and great characterisations. See more illustrations and read more about the book and if you think your dcs would enjoy this apply for one of fifty free copies. We ask all those who win copies to come back to this thread and let us know what think. Good luck !

have entered this, have a DD who will be 3 this month and has just started nursery so stories about sharing and toilet training (which isnt going well) are very timely!
love axel scheffler/ julia donaldson in our house so fingers crossed!

Just recieved our copy - thank you. Axel Scheffler has again produced another beautiful book. My two year old loved it and was pointing to all the extra aspects of the pictures straight away. This gave us lots of chat around the story for example what they had for snack. The story itself was perfect as my ds is struggling with potty training as he gets too engrossed with playing. This reinforced that its ok to have an accident but its better when we use the potty. Thanks MM :-)

I was lucky enough to receive this lovely book, it really is charming. The illustrations are wonderful and the text is a perfect size for little ones to follow along with.

I am certainly going to look out for the other Pip and Posy books in the series.

I would recommend this book to all little ones post and pre potty training!

Thank you very much for introducing me to Pip and Posy.

Thank you for the book. Lovely bright and colourful illustrations. This is the first time we have read any of the Pip and Posy books. Simplistic and to the point which is perhaps what is needed for toilet training. DS rather liked Posy as a character. (His favourite toy is a mouse.). A 'wow' was given when I found the following website: www.worldofpipandposy.com/

Illustrations are really, really lovely as you would expect from AS. Lots of amusing detail in the pages that are fun to discuss. The text itself is quite brief so it's a quick read. Nice story, good for potty training definitely but also for the general messages of friendship and 'everyone has accidents.' Ds really likes it, thank you.

Thank you so much for the book! I am actually planning to give this to my sister as she is just starting potty training with my little niece, but I did read it to my DD who is 3. She really enjoyed it and loved looking at the pictures.

I didn't recieve a free book but have bought this myslef along with two other Pip and Posy titles. Dd 2.3 really enjoys these books. I think we have now read all of the titles in the series as our local library stocks them. They are on the short side but the illustrations are lovely and give plenty of things to talk about other than the story.

We love Pip and Posy. The pictures are so fun and the storylines very engaging and true to toddler-life. DS is 24mo.

If you like Axel Scheffler's books you might like his original artwork too which is available from <a class="break-all" href="http://www.childrensbookillustration.com/view_artist.php?id=30/" rel="nofollow noindex" target="_blank">www.childrensbookillustration.com/view_artist.php?id=30/ He has some illustrations from his Pip and Posy books, The Smartest Giant in Town, The Highway Rat, as well as lots from his book of nursery rhymes and several others.

Can I comment even though I didnt win the book (its nkt new is it, weve had it years)
I loved it - perfect for toilet training. Shows how getting caught up in playing can lead to an accident. Shows them cleaning the puddke up with no fuss. Also love that it shows pip (who I believe is a boy rabbit) playing with "girl toys". Illustrations are as always briliant. Real feel good book.

Thank you so much for the book. This is a great book for toilet training and showing that things don't always go smoothly - accidents can happen. Lovely clear illustrations with lots going on in every picture. Highly recommended.

Whoops! Posted that comment on the wrong thread. That comment was meant for the captain underpants one. How did I manage that? Fat fingers on a small phone. I wonder if my comment can be moved?

We were pleased to win one of the copies of this book. It's a lovely little book, great illustrations. My DD is a little young for potty training at the moment but it's a really good starting point and to get her used to the idea.
