Audio books for dyslexic ds aged 12

Ds has an average reading ability despite been fairly severely dyslexic. He hates reading though, he'd rather pull out his own eyelashes that sit down with a book. We used to read the him every night, but with 3 other children I don't have as much time as I'd like to spend reading with him, so I've been thinking about audio books for him. The problem is what to download? When we go through the lists of books he say no to everything.

He loves watching detective programmes with my mum, Poirot and Miss Marple, and the like. I obviously thought about getting him Agatha Christies but I think they might be a bit too dated. He's easily discouraged, so if I get this wrong it might put him off the whole idea!

Any suggestions?

Tom Gates actual books are great, dyslexic DS1 aged very nearly 11 loves them, about 6 in the series, have a different typeface with illustrations, not detective but good story.

On a Kindle you can download samples to try first without paying, usually half the first chapter which gives you a good idea of the book, you can also fiddle about with the text to get something you like, DS1 downloads some books on Dad's wotk ipad as he likes to read them white text on black background (night setting) makes it easier for him to read.

Does he like WWE wrestling? Because you can download some of their biographies, DS1 currently reading in the kindle one about CM Punk! You can also have it on an audio setting, albeit robot sounding voice, so you can follow along to the words which DS1 likes to do also.

Has he seen the website Dudes with Dyslexia I think that has some suggestions. He also like the sports pages of the papers, he likes the mix of headlines, bigger and smaller fonts, plus it tends to be shorter sentances, punchier text and he loves football so understands the technical terms etc.

It's so hard when they are no so keen on reading but the above seems to have sorted my DS.

I mean to say, he did not like audio books, he got distracted or fell asleep!
