Hi all, Im looking for some suggestions for books for my ds. He loves sharing books with me and his all time favourite is "What the ladybird heard". We look for the ladybird and chat about the animals, tractor, police car and he loves helping to make the tiotoe gesture and splash sounds. Im looking fro similar books which we can spark a coversation from. Im reading bear hunt at the minute and he loves the repetition and sounds.

Any suggestions would be great x

Ok here are some we love... (dd 2.4y)

Ian Whybrow & David Melling - All Change
Jill Murphy -Peace at Last
Jez Alborough - any of the Duck series (captain duck especially I think is hilarious although quite long maybe for a little bit older)
Judith Kerr - The tiger who came to tea (classic!)
Any of the Sarah Garland books (really lovely real-life situations good to discuss)
Pamela Allen - Shhh Little Mouse and Is Your Grandmother a Goanna (great for making sounds

These are all ones I enjoy reading - good rhythms, sounds and/or lovely pictures - and ones Dd constantly requests and kids getting involved in).

Sorry would have done links but on phone and it's too fiddly!

As well as the ones above my almost two year old liked: Peepo; The Baby Who Wouldn't Go To Bed; and Each Peach Pear Plum.

Have you tried Ethelbert the Tiger ? My son and his reception class were captivated by the magical tale of Ethelbert. I believe that it has been reprinted from the 1950's original.
