I can't for the life of me remember the name of a book I read dozens of times as a child and would love some help remembering it. I think my ds1 would enjoy this book if I could get hold of a copy.

It was about a group of siblings (two girls and two boys?) who were sent to either visit or live with their mad great aunt in Ireland. They travelled there alone (as happens in fiction!) and arrived at her big, creepy house in the dark. She wore a big cape, used to go fishing in a rowing boat at night, used to appear and disappear very suddenly, and feed them strange things? The general plot line was that they gradually get to know her and her strange ways and grow to love her and their new life, I think.

I can't remember the author's name but am sure it was a woman who had written lots of other children's books. There were occasional line drawings in the book and in style, they were similar to the drawings in We're Going On A Bear Hunt iirc.

Anyone got a better memory than me?? Grin
