Childbirth

OK just for a laugh ... place your bets on how long Miaou will be in labour this time [grin]

Not that I'm in labour yet but due a week on Saturday so not very long to go ...

A little background info to help you decide:

dd1 - 16 hours from start to finish - had an epidural which they reckon slowed it down.

dd2 - 8 hours and ditto the epidural

ds - 4 hours (waterbirth, no intervention)

Soooo ... m/wives seem sure it could all be over in 2 hours, I'm not so convinced myself!

Well 2 hours is the obvious bet to start with.

You are not on that little island anymore are you? Fingers crossed that all goes well for you

LOL you lot! Nope, now live on the mainland, a mere 25 miles from the hospital (and don't want a homebirth). I don't like things to be too straightforward, you see

VVV - bloody hope not!!

Have a lovely holiday!!

The thing is, how will you judge when labour has started? Actually, when I had no.4 there was quite a defined start to labour, but when I had no.3, I was having on and off contractions for about 24 hours and only went to the hospital for something to do - turned out to be in proper labour and gave birth about 4 hours later. But I wouldn't like to say when proper labour had started....

Miaou · 13/07/2007 22:32

OK:

VVVQV - 12 hours
Nutcracker - 3 hours 23 mins
DumbledoresGirl - 2 hours
ApuNahasapeemapetilon - 1 hour 49 mins
Marslady - 1 hour 37 mins (am ignoring your other suggestion

Nutcracker - you win the right to jump around declaring "I was right! I won!" etc

DG - I thought that for the sake of clarity we will go with what goes down in my notes as length of labour. Have always had a very defined bang-and-we're-off start to labour previously.
