WATERS HAVE BROKEN

muppetisacat · 04/03/2007 00:03

Bloody full moon has caused my waters to break about an hour ago.

No contractions as yet - this is exactly what happened in my other 2 labours.

Hospital want me to go in just for quick check and then say i can come home - I will have a hospital birth as i need antibiotics in labour...

But do you think i should start doing all i can now to get contractions going or just come home - sleep and see what happens through night/tomorrow?

NICE guidelines do allow 96 hours after SRM before induction, but not sure if it differs if you need antibiotics.....x

Hi Muppet - I'd rest all you can to get your body ready for the labour as you'll need the energy - ooh how exciting!

Lulumamma - Even when she needs antibiotics for the birth? Assuming Strep B (and that is entirely an assumption) - can the baby get infected whilst still in the womb or just coming down the pike, so to speak?

Good luck Muppet!

Hope it's going well Muppet. I'm most . Mine has decided he's going to live in me until he's 18 years old.

not sure diva..which is why i said that in my post !! GBS is usually in the vagina, but can be in the uterus too, and once the waters have gone, then that safety net has gone to a certain extent..hope muppet is busy birthing as we speak !

Thanks for all suggestions - still here - don't need antibiotics for strep B but for fairly benign heart murmur that they just like to treat to be on safe side!

No real contractions still - have to go into hospital first thing in morning - off to eat curry! Clary sage oil and various other things!!!

Will let you know!

lulumama can you post your link for nipple stimulation again? Whenever I have had a quick look before I can't quite see where it gives the instructions? Can you advise?
Thanks!
