I am due in 6 days time and had a show three weeks ago, I have been having period like pains for the last week and for the last couple of days been leaking clear discharge, could this be my waters?

With my previous two my waters were broken at hospital so have no idea!

When my waters went (for both births) they went with a huge whoosh, there was no question what it was

I think it could be...'bag' could have ruptured but baby head 'blocking' the hole most of the time...

amniotic fluid smells sweet...and if you are leaking, wear a pad and sniff...

can have a leak before they go ....leaks can seal up and the waters replenish before labour

if you are thinking it is your waters, yo can go to the labour ward, they can tell you if the membranes are intact ...

is it soaking your clothes?

like JJB says..if the baby;s head is quite low, it can block the way and a bit of water leaks from the hind ( or is it fore?) waters...then when in established labour, the membranes can rupture with a bang !

No idea I'm afraid, but if you're leaking and not sure it's best to get checked over so I'd call your labour ward and ask their advice. Good luck - perhaps you're on your way...

TBH....IMHO........not a huge point in going

you can have 96 hours from waters going until you need to be induced and if they haven't gone, you will be sent home !!

when is your next antenatal check?

yes yes yes

I had this with my baby and for days I just dribbled. It WAS my waters and I ended up being induced. Go get yourself checked out to make sure your baby is safe.

ok...it;s your call as to whether you feel you need to go to be checked..if no contractions and not a lot of fluid..might not be worth it..did you sniff yet????

I would go and be checked personally. Also it's not always easy for them to tell if it is your waters that have gone or not. I had mine go at 22 weeks and it was just slow leaking most of the time. I've been very lucky and have sealed about 4 weeks ago and so I'm not 36+4 and baby still inside. There is an increased risk of infection after your waters break though so there are things to avoid such as sex and baths. Good luck.
