Is it just money Mears or we can we send more practical stuff?

For this appeal it is money. Every pound raised in being matched by Tom Hunter who is a Scottish millionaire. He is also covering administration costs so that every penny raised goes towards building a new hospital.

A friend of mine raffled a cuudly elephant in her hair dressing salon and I showed pictures of Bottom hospital taken when I was there. In one hour we raised £100. The winner donated the elephant back and it has been re-raffled which raied another £200. We have donated that to the appeal so infact have raied £600. Amazing.

An Edinburgh based midwife raised £100,000 selling calendars and recipe books. She has also donated into the fund.

Thanks VVV. I think really I put it in the wrong section to get attention.

bctmum - that is a good idea but I am not sure that would be possible

I am so excited about this appeal as I had to have a section to deliver my dd. If I hadn't had the luxury of a modern hospital my dd and myself might not be there now.

We have decided not to have a christmas tree this year (well we have a wee sapling in the garden which we are going to pot up and use instead, so we are not going totally without) and instead donate the money we save to the appeal.

Mears, I read this when you posted and went to the appeal page... Strangley though, my mum gave me a recipe book at Christmas and I was reading it last night - just realised that it for the same appeal and is the recipe book you mentioned that was being sold! It's a small world! Just thought I'd share and bump this...
