C-Section - stitches burst - advice needed

I had a C-S nearly four weeks ago and everything was absolutely fine in terms of recorvery until Wednesday when I was putting my toddler to bed, leant over, twisting to cuddle him and ended up in agony. GP has checked me over and tells me that I am not infected but that some of my internal stitches have burst and this has torn my muscles.
OK so I've got the diagnosis but I'm in absolute agony here - have been in tears two nights running trying to get out of/turn over in bed - far far worse that I remember the pain initially after the CS. I'm back on volterol and was wondering if anyone else has had this and how long it lasts - I am due to travel shortly and also need to attend some college lectures so was hoping other people might be able to enlighten/reassure me on how long I can expect this to last? Also I'm taking Arnica & Bellis Per. again but if anyone has any other homeo recommendations this would be much appreciated. Thanks

You poor love, that sounds sooo painful. I had stitches that burst, but they were superficial ones - the District Nurse came every day for ten days and dressed the wound, because it got infected. Which I suppose is far less likely if the stitiches are on the inside layer, at least - but much more painful (mine wasn't, really).

Sorry I can't help, just wanted to wish you rapid healing and bump for you...

I would have thought the stitches would be well absorbed by now. If not, surely you need an urgent referral back to your OB?

Muchos hugs xx

You need to see another doctor!!! My scar wasn't sewn up prperly in the beginning and it came open 4 times, once within hours of the birth and 3 over the next few months. Had to have it redone and I can't have any more kids now.

I would get back to the GP and ask to see someone at the hospital - you really need it checked out by a specialist

Crikey, Nab3, not the answer I expected but I am so very grateful for your info. How awful for you I will go back to GP and see if I can get this properly investigated. Thanks all who posted.

I agree that you should contact the hospital don't wait for your 6 week check up.
Everything's probably ok but just to be sure.
My stitches came open after a few days and the wound was dressed daily for 3 months by a nurse.
At one point the wound started to heal on the surface but not on the inside so it had to be burnt off to make sure the inside healed first.
I know this is nothing like your situation but perhaps it is important that the inside heals properly.
