Labour starting or just teasing me?

Hi all I'm 39+3 days with my 2nd this pregnancy is totally different to my 1st which seemed such a breeze compared to this one lol.

Anyway for a few days I had abit of diarrhea (sorry tmi) and very badly hormonal to the point I lay in bed for 2 hours the other night crying my eyes out cuz I thought my partner and son hated me (they did nothing for me to start thinking that).

More recently yesterday I was out walking and started getting the cramping kind of feeling in lower back and stomach, everytime I sat down it eased off and when I stood it started building up again. So went to bed last night seemed to get pains throughout the night (well I think I did anyway and don't think I was dreaming).

This morning I woke up and my 3 yr old ds was at the side of my bed and I picked him up to put him in bed with me for a cuddle when I did though I heard a popping sound (no water or anything following just the popping sound). Then I got up since getting up have such a very bad backache and getting cramps now and again. Just wondering does this sound like things will be starting properly soon, or is dd teasing me ?

How are you feeling now? I heard a popping sound when my first labour started - it was my waters breaking!
