Lochia returning or period already?

Quick question. I had my DS 4 weeks ago today. Lochia tailed off about 2 weeks ago, around the time an infection emerged in my stitches.

On Sunday and yesterday I was having distinct period pains and I'm now bleeding bright red blood again, tho not that heavy just now.

Does lochia come and go? Or is this my period back already? I'm a bit baffled as I'm breastfeeding and my cycle pre pregnancy was 32 days long.

Would be so unamused if it's AF booking accommodation again so soon :(

It sounds more than likely to be your period. Aside from the period pains, if you feel well (I.e. not flu like or unwell) then unfortunately mother nature has probably just blessed you early :/ boo! Breastfeeding doesn't always prevent your periods from coming back, particularly if breastfeeding is a bit irregular or you are supplementing with ff at any point. Hope it settles down soon.

Same thing happened to me. Then again 28 days later and 28 days after that. I too worried it was the lochia starting up again but no, period back. I don't know anyone else this happened too. Most people seem to get a few months' grace!

I had my period return at 5 weeks and like yu was so baffled I ass ed it must be lochia. Sadly not. Some of us, despite bf'ing are just bloody (ha) unlucky. Thanks

I was breastfeeding and my period came back 5 weeks, to the day, after birth. I remember thinking how unfair!

It sucks! Apart from three feeds on three different nihts early on I've breastfed only. Does it affect supply at all? Am so irritable. All signs say period I guess. At least it's not that heavy (yet)!

Thanks for the advice. Least I'm not the only hyper fertile one...

It shouldnt affect your milk supply whatsoever :)

Well, I fed for nearly 2 yrs and didn't have any supply issues.

Just one of those things. I suppose it's better than getting to the point where you want to ttc again but can't because you're not ovulating yet - you do read that on here quite a lot.

Disclaimer: I'm sure you're a very long way from ttc again!
