Aw, she'll be fine, I'm sure Smile.

Could she be worried for you as 'hospital' may mean 'ill' 'sick' to her? Can you reassure her that it is all really exciting and when you come back she'll be a Big Sister? Make it all about her and not about the baby IYKWIM.

Does she know her gran well? Will gran spoil her rotten as grandparents should?

Good luck to you too.

Has granny got something spacial planned so that you could keep reminding her that when granny is here she will be able to do cooking/go to xxx/visit yyy etc.

Remind her that she will have a new baby brother/sister that she will be able to help look after if she is excited about the new arrival. You ahve to go to hospital as both you and hte new baby need looking after, but will soon be home to be with her.

My DD 'gave' DS a present when he came to collect us from the hospital which seemed to help things along Grin. I think it did work as he still refers to it and it was nearly 9 years ago.

No,she's not worried about hospital being a same as ill.knows har granma quite well, even tho doesn't see her that often.she's usually confident,I don't know where is this coming from.she has a little brother already she's very excited about baby, but can't understand why she can't come with us !promised her something when I'm back but not working that well at the mo.as well I don't want my mum to be upset at hearing her saying "I don't like granma "etc...help!

Shall I keep talking about it or just leave it?

I would not 'over'talk it TBH.
She does not really have a choice in the matter, does she? So acknowledge that she does not like the idea of it, but reassure her she will be fine. "I know you'd like to come, DD, but you know you can't. I am sorry to see you upset, but I am sure you'll have lots of fun with gran".
Something along those lines?

Yes,that seems reasonable.it may be she's at school or asleep when I have to go anyway,so why am I stressing about it so much I don't know!
