Bit of background info. I have low lying Placenta grade four. I have spent some time in hospital with bleeding and have a section booked for next week. For the last two days I have had some very funny pains. Saw midwife today and she said that baby's head is very low. She has advised me to stay as horizontal ad possible and to see the doc tomorrow when I am at the hospital to get bloody done.

However, I am worried. AS soon as I stand up I can feel the pressure. I am scared it us going to cause s big bleed and an home alone and it is snowing etc.

Has anyone experienced this? Am I worrying. unnecessarily?

If you are concerned, then please call your midwife. At this time of night it's usually delivery suite/labour ward that takes the calls. Be very direct about your concerns and hopefully they can put your mind at risk or ask you to come in for closer monitoring.

Thanks for replies. I am ok. I have just rested lots and the pressure pain has eased. Having some lower back pain tonight so keeping an eye on that. I have not been in yet but may go tomorrow if this back pain remains.

It is so hard to know what to do for the best. I don't want to waste everyone's time by going in unnecessarily but at the same time I absolutely cannot risk going into labour.

You are not wasting anyone's time by going in.

If you are concerned - go. Go go go.

Little update. My instincts were right and I should have listened to them! Had another bleed on Monday morning and so had to have an emergency section.

Thankfully all ok and I am home with my gorgeous girl in my arms right now. She is utterly perfect and I am in love!

Thanks for your advice.
