My ELCS was booked for tomorrow. Long story short, arrived for pre op on Friday morning to find a scrappy piece of paper pinned to my notes advising myself & the midwives at the assessment centre that it'd been put back to Wednesday.

As a consequence, and in addition to my health issues, I was offered & accepted a sweep last night & I'm now on my way to be induced!

Wish me luck!

Thanks everyone Grin

Cailin I'm to get used to the idea haha.

I'm on my 3rd night here, been moved 4 times, the whole maternity is overrun & understaffed, I'm 3cms dilated and will never do this again...BUT, it'll all be worth it in the end!

This time tomorrow you'll be holding your baby!

I mean, yes, something encouraging. But really you must have the patience of a saint bless you. I hope everything kicks off in a mighty way really soon and you have snuggly baby in your arms very quickly :)

I desperately hope I'm going to meet my lazy boy soon, however, I doubt it.

I've struggled to be patient, however, there are women here who arrived a day before me & are in the same position and worse (one woman has been losing her waters for over 24 hrs & has still not been allocated a delivery suite!).

My amazing, loving, sportive DP & DD are keeping me sane!

Hopefully I can bring news of my DS soon.

Thanks all. Thanks

Thanks everyone for the well wishes & luck!

DS arrived 06/12/12 at 04:17 am, weighing a lovely 8lbs 14oz.

We had such a traumatic time due mostly to how DS was lying & after being in slow labour for a few days, my waters were broken & established labour kicked in very quickly.

My pain relief was disregarded by the end, as my midwife was not experienced enough to top it up, as required & the ward was so understaffed that I was left in a lot of pain while a more experienced midwife who was able to attend was located.

Then after 6 hrs, I was examined by 2 doctors & was rushed to theatre to have my baby delivered by emergency forceps.

We're just home, both doing well (he's doing much better than I am) & trying to find our feet.

Congratulations! Thanks for you and your bundle of love!

Sorry you had such a traumatic time though and were left in pain.

Congrats! I feel for u not having the birth u set out for. Its one thing if baby has other ideas on how its going to go but quite another when its because the nhs cannot provide an adequate service!

Quick update...I was readmitted to hospital after my DP called an ambulance whenI couldn't get up on Sunday.

Turns out my spinal fluid was leaking.

Three traumatic days later, we are home & hoping the blood patch works.

Bloody hell, that sounds awful! Was that from the site of the spinal? Hope you're getting all the help you need.

It was from the initial epidural. It's a rarity but something that should definitely be picked up on from the reports I was giving to all staff in regards to my symptoms.

Instead, I was discharged and as a result, we've lost precious time as a new family.
