Don't know, but two midwives for our labour ward last night recommended it?! I'm going to give it a go, as long as it isn't causing harm ( they assured it wouldn't) I guess it's worth a shot for us! You going to try? They also said old wives tales have basis in truth which I didn't previously believe. You're either ready or not was my thinking!!

Dh particularly liked their recommendations about semen, hmmm...

If you've had a sweep, that totally works!!! With my last dc, I had a sweep in the afternoon, had sex, she was born the next morning! Totally do the semen/sex thing!!
Am deff gonna try the clary sage oil, also want to try the oil of primrose capsules, but have read if taken orally, they can cause the runs in labour Shock
Just want this baby out like, NOW!! Lol x

Not sure it works as in brings on labour, but I mixed some with base oil and had dh massage into my back and I had on my forearms and it did help me with contractions in labour.

It did nothing for me except give me a headache - it stinks!

With dd I'm sure it sped things up once I was actually in labour. But I tried using it this time to bring on labour (I had loads of niggles / bh that went nowhere for 4 weeks this time) and it didn't do anything, except possibly exacerbate the niggles which may then have tired my uterus and slowed down the real start (but who knows). I would use it again like a shot to speed up established labour - but not to try and trigger things.

Sure, if being bigger than you've ever been in your life makes you have some affinity with a stuffed turkey, by all means smell like one too.

it works, I swear by it, and it works as pain relief, I drenched a tea towel in it last time and breathed through it.
