Rear facing car seat for Peugeot

Hi All,

My DD is just 7 months but is very large for her age, and has been measured and checked and really doe no longer fit in her first rear facing car seat (her head now rises above the back of the seat - which is obviously a great concern if we were to have a crash)

I'm ideally looking for one of these new rear facing car seats that go up to 4 years old, because I've read a lot of press about them being safer and how whiplash can be much more serious in small children as their head to spine ratio is much greater than ours as adult, and well mainly because she's only 7 months old.

We have ISOFix points so would ideally like to use a seat that has these fixings, but it's not critical.

So far we have tried the BeSafe and Recaro both of these fitted in the rear seat, but rendered the front seat unusable (head touching windscreen - both my DH and I are relativeky tall).

We have also tried the Brittax version, but as this did not have ISOFix points and teh Peugoet seats have a bit of a backward slant on them we found even with a trained professional fitting them they rocked from side to side quite substantially (even for me to fear that with DD's weight in it around a corner it could go over)

So does anyone have a 407 that has used rear facing seats?

I really don't want to have to get a new car, and that said I have been told that there are a large number of cars that have the same space issue with the rear facing isofix seats.

So if anyone has one and can comfortably get a passenger in the front seat, can you tell me what car you have, as if it comes to trading my car in 'll do it

Many Thanks

hi i have had the KISS car seat in sil's car. it's 207 3 door and she still had room in the front seat. it's good too as it has a good recline for smaller babies. i have a two way elite as well but it's not isofix but is a good seat too as it lasts to 25kgs rf.

DuoLogic, as the KISS is normally called, is a compact Isofix seat which will fit nicely in your 407. Another compact RF seat is Britax Hi-Way. It's non-Isofix and needs about the same room as DuoLogic.

Recaro needs lots of room and so does BeSafe since it needs to be kep in sleep position most of the time(otherwise it's too upright).

TWE and Britax Multi Tech will also fit and would be the best choice for a tall child. They can both keep most kids rear facing to 5+ years and about 125 cm. Both seats als need less room than BeSafe but don't have Isofix.

If your daughter is very big Isofix might not be a good idea since the maximum rear facing weight is only 18 kg.

Using the front seat is also a good alternative if you can deactivate airbag. This is just as safe as the rear.

May I please ask how heavy and tall she is?
