Want an ISOFIX front facing seat because dd hates car seat and I think will be happier facing forwards. The above 2 seats seem to be the best regarded but any idea on which one to go for? Seem similar on paper - maxi cosi more expensive. Is it worth the extra? Currently have maxi-cosi cabriofix.

Are you aware that rear facing is much safer? Might there be a different rear-facing one she's happier in maybe?

Forward facing at 10 months is a terrible unsafe idea. It's 500% less safe than rear facing, quite a large number IMHO. Like Loopy mentioned, using a rear facing car seat such as Britax Hi-Way (Rf to 25 kg) would mean your child is sitting quite upright and can see well though windows. This usually makes a huge difference.

My daughter was the same, hated the steep angle of her infant seat and always wanted to see what was going on. Changing to a Rf seat made a huge difference although I can't say she was incredibly happy:-) At age 2 things turned around and today at 3 years 9 months she's happily strapping herself into her rear facing seat with my supervision.

What car are you driving?

we've got an audi a3. she's got the mirror, toys etc but just seems to get bored. she's always been a nightmare - even to just go up the road. we live in london and there are so many traffic lights i just stop going anywhere in the car. at least i can turn round and chat to her when im stationary in a ff, rather than be stressed out constantly when i can't see her and she's yelling. i reckon im more likely to have an accident with her rear facing because she screams so much.
