Anyone bought the Nania D12 car seat from Asda

I purchased this car seat for my seven month old grandson for occasional use (It only cost £25).

I have a Peugeot 206, we have followed the fitting instructions (with car seat belt), but the seat wobbles very badly, Under no circumstances would I use it. Any suggestions as to what we've done wrong?

Is it as rubbish as it seems? Should I send it back and pop down to Halfords?

It sounds like this seat doesn't fit your car as car seats do not fit all cars. They are a poor quality seat so would recommend swapping it for something else and having it professionally fitted.

Yes, send it back! The Nania seats are known for being poor quality anyway, and TBH I wouldn't trust a seat that covered that combination of ages, I just don't see how it can offer adequate protection at any age. I wouldn't go for any carseat which covers stage 1 (9 month - 4 years) as well as an older age group (apart from perhaps the kiddy comfort pro, but that is expensive!)

The Mothercare own brand seats are good quality (same manufacturer as Maxi Cosi) and much less expensive than named brands. The travel tot is the baby one and fitted my DS until he was 18 months. Or they do one called the Seville which does birth - 4 years, which also looks good. Then when he outgrows that then I'd get a highback booster which converts to a normal booster. You could probably get this one second hand as it's mainly to adjust the seatbelt position for the child.

HTH

Also is this forward facing? Really should be rear facing til he is older.

Thank you so much. I've arranged for it to be returned, it is absolutely awful quality.
Been to Halfords and had a chat, he's only 18lbs so still has to use his Mamas and Papas tiny one till 20lbs or 9 months. TBH you only get what you pay for - I know that really. Thanks again.

Ah, he's still got a baby seat - I would keep using that as long as possible. It should go up to 13kg (28lbs) but he will probably grow out of it before then anyway. With the infant seats you can use them until their head reaches the top of the seat, it doesn't matter if their legs go over the end. HTH
