Hello all

I'm getting confused by the myriad of car seats available and wonder if you could give me some advice/suggestions please?

I am looking for a car seat for my newborn

  • Group O or group 0+ or group 0+&1
  • ISOFIX compatible
  • rear facing
  • good safety features

Budget is around £150-200 and we currently have a VW Golf (2007 I think so relatively new).

I'm getting confused by the hundreds of websites, models and wonder if anyone could share their recommendations so that I can narrow down the search please?

All help gratefully received

We were very happy with our Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix. Has a very high safety rating from Which?, DS always looked very comfy in it and it worked with our buggy too which was great. Used for 12 months before he grew out of it.

hi, i can recommend the KISS (klippan isofix safety system). it's a bit more expensive at £300 but it will last rear facing to age 4 and is isofix-wish i had know about this when ds was born. the seat can be lifted out from the frame and carried using the handles and there is also a handle and wheels so you can tow it lol! haven't used this though!

got it from the www.incarsafetycentre.co.uk and it is really easy to install and is very comfortable and has inserts that can be taken out for toddlers.

Maxi Cosi do make good seats. Good price for the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix here at amazon - about £25 cheaper than Mothercare.
