Safest and cheapest high back booster

We're off on a mega 3 week holiday in a few weeks - dd1 is in a highback booster but because its isofix - its makes it very heavy to lug around. We're hiring a car and don't want to rely on hiring a car seat so want to take our own. Can you recommend a safe but cheap car seat - I've been looking at the graco maxi but can't find comments about its safety. Cheers.

I would get a britax adventure as they are not much more than the graco one. I was looking at cheap seat to see if I could get away with one for my second child in daddies car I my older one in the graco ones and she said they were uncomfortable where the headrest moves up. But the britax one was ok she is used to the evolva 23. It doesn't separate which will either make it easier or harder. My friend just too a kiddy car seat back on the plain to new Zealand with them grandma had the box which they would have packed it in to go in the hold but they took in on the plane with them and their dc1 sat in it and slept. It you happen to be going to new Zealand you could probably sell a kiddy car seat really easy on your last day eu car seat are legal there but very expensive. Sorry for the long reply.

Thanks for the reply - we're going to the states and doing alot of driving so needs to be comfortable. I'll have a look at the britax one

The britax is much more comfortable than the graco. Dd kept falling forward in the graco when she fell asleep but the britax kind of holds her head in place.

I didn't notice either one was heavier than the other.

Thanks scrappy but I went to toys r us and bought one, wanted to check it fitted with two other seats in.
It does and I'm really pleased with it.

As someone else mentioned Britax Adventure is the best high booster IMHO. It's light weight, cheap and still not flimsy.

Most parent don't know this but the weight of a booster is very important for overall safety since weight of the booster is added to impact forces in a frontal collision. Adventure only weighs 3.5 kg which is excellent.
