Jane-Montecarlo plus

Does anyone know if the Jane Montecarlo Plus (Isofix) can turn into a just a booster seat...ie does the back eventually come off?

Ive got a 5 year old who has got a Maxi Cosi Rodi XP which is fab but DH has managed to break the base plate on it and I can't get a replacement and without it it slips around in our car (we've got leather seats) so was looking at an Isofix one instead.

Am obviously keeping him in it as a highback booster for many years yet but just wondered iin the future if the back came off but it doesn't seem to say anywhere.
