Help - Car Seat to fit into Landrover Freelander Kalahari

The problem I've got is that I've got a 2002 special edition Landrover Freelander Kalahari which has half leather/half suedette seats. My baby boy is now 10 mths old and has grown out of his Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix.

I went into Halfords and had a demonstration instore of the Maxi-Cosi Tobi and was very impressed with all the safety features and by how comfy it looked.

However, when they tried to see how it fitted into my car (which hasn't got Isofix)they weren't very happy with how secure it seemed to be when fitted with the rear seat belt. We also tried the Britax seat (King Plus TS) which is the only seat Landrover recommend for the Freelander and that was even less secure - it wobbled about all over the place! They then tried the Britax First Class and this was the worst out of all three we tried!

Has anyone else had problems finding a car seat that fits securely to this car??? Any advice?

Thanks!

Go to a Land Rover dealer and ask for their advice.

hi, have you considered a rear facing seat? maybe ask on the rf website www.rearfacing.co.uk and ask on there if anyone has fitted one in this car.

either that or i can recommend www.incarsafetycentre.co.uk we got ds seat from there and have been back to get another for my mindee. they were really patient and tried loads of seats to see which fitted the best. you can call them and see if they have fitted one in your car or if you are near belfast or milton keynes they will try them in the car for you.

i have the britax two way elite and it has been a great fit in all the cars i've had it in. i find that car garages are pretty clueless when it comes to baby seat advice. i rand them to ask about undefloor storage and support legs on the seats and they didn't have a clue!

Hi there - did you manage to get sorted with a car seat?? I have the exact same problem at the moment and would appreciate any advice? It seems the old freelander wasn't built with car seats in mind!
