Car seat for Rover 25

I have a Rover 25 which I won't be changing for a couple of years, so DD's next stage car seat needs to fit in it. She is in a Britax babysafe at the moment, on the Britax website only the Prince and Eclipse fit the car (both forward facing group 1). We would have chosen the Evolva but it isn't listed as compatible. DD will need new seat before 12mths I think, she's 8mths at mo and head only an inch from top of seat (she's 98th centile tall!).

What other stage 1 seats do people have that would fit in the Rover? Rearward facing stage 1 seem to be a problem in the 25 from what I've read as seatbelts quite short and design of car means there is a buckle crunch problem.

It might be that britax haven't tested that seat in your car. There are lots of reasons why a seat might not fit your car and you shouldn't go on what it say solely on what it says on the britax web site as cars are different and the belt on the buckles are different. You need to go to a safety centre or a shop and try a few. The elvolva is one of those seats that doesn't go in lots of cars so if you may need to go in a few different cars regularly get it checked in those cars.

Yes, it occurred to me that it might not have been tested in my car esp as they stopped producing the Rover before Britax brought out the Evolva. The only Britax stockist for miles around won't test a seat in a car unless it is listed as compatible by Britax, so I know I can only try the Britax Prince and Eclipse but wanted to have more choice than this hence asking whether anyone else had a Rover 25!!!

I will always get a seat checked in our cars before I buy it, but want to be able to do some research before visiting the britax stockist/mothercare/halfords so that I don't feel forced to buy something there and then!!! (esp when prices vary so much, have seen the prince seat for anywhere from £55 to £140 ... wouldn't want to get stung for £140 for it)

we always had Britax Eclipse Si in ours, in fact we have used that car seat in so many vehicles it's unreal and such a secure fit too. It also fits with a lap belt. We have had lots of clasic vehicles and it fitted in them all.
