Baby in sleeping bag?

We are going to a festival this summer when ds will be just 3y and baby will be 10weeks old (if born on time). We have been camping and to festivals a few times with ds, so I'm feeling pretty good about most of it. But I'm feeling a bit anxious about baby: If we co-sleep in a sleeping bag, is she going to get smothered? We have mummy-shaped bags, and when I cocoon myself in I can't believe there'd be room for anyone else! So, do you think we'll be ok, or should we use a double for extra space? Or should we stick her on her own in a snow-suit, grobag and cosy-toes... Am I going to fry her?!!

And a less stressy query: Should I get ds a full-size sleeping bag and just tie it up shorter, or get a kiddie one?

Thank you all you knowledgable ladies! (Yes yes yes the festival is not till end August, but the planning and buying is half the fun )

Hmmmm
toughie.

IMO I would get one of those folding carry cots.
They fold up into next to nothing and then you could put him under sheets.

As for your ds I would get him a ready bed.
It will be just his size.

Do you have a baby sleeping bag - one where there are arm holes? We used those when camping with little babies. I think there is a risk of smothering in a normal sleeping bag.

We put them to sleep in a jumper so their arms stayed warm. And kept the baby close to us so we could check its temperature.

as for the first ds, my dds all have child sized sleeping bags, the oldest is 8, but my niece has always had a full sized one since she was 2, so I suppose that's up to you.

Wow, that was quick!

Seems I'm not being completely OTT to worry about smothering. OK. We used to borrow one of those pod cots for ds, so might try to get that again. Yes, we have baby sleeping bags, and ds used to go in that inside the cosy-toes, in the pod. With jumper. And possibly with hat. I guess we've got that covered!

Ds already has a sleeping mat. Used to be ok with fleece all-in-one in a grobag, but is too humungous for that now. Fennel, if your niece was ok in an adult bag, I'll save my pennies and get one my sister can borrow too!

Thank you x
