Is taking a 15wk DS camping for the may bank holiday weekend asking for trouble?

DH and I go camping in Wales every year, near where we went to uni (Aberystwyth). DH does a mountain bike event and we revisit our favourite places and see friends.

I really want to go this year, but am worried about a couple of things.

Firstly, the weather. How cold is too cold? I'm planning to take DS's basket and he normally has a sleeping bag

Secondly, even if its warm, how do campers cope with feeding at night?

We can't afford a hotel or B&B at the moment, but we'd love to find a static caravan for the weekend. I looked at hiring a campervan too, but that's more than a hotel as far as I can see.

Does anyone have any helpful advice about camping with a young baby or cheap alternatives?

I took my DS camping for the first time when he was six weeks old. He's seven now, so I can't remember much, but I do recall that breast-feeding him at night was exhausting lying on hard ground with nothing to prop myself up on. Might be an idea to take lots of cushions/pillows or (ideally, if there's space in your tent) even a chair that's comfy enough for you to sit in to feed him.

Although I was tired all the time, it was fun during the day (we had hot, sunny weather luckily). I don't think your DS will feel cold in his sleeping bag, but you might when you're feeding him at night. Extra blankets to throw over you would be useful. Plus a hot-water bottle (for you, not him)?

Camping is fantastic for older children; my daughter (then three) had a ball and we've been several times since then.

Are there any youth hostels nearby? I have a feeling some of them have family rooms that are pretty cheap.

Just remembered: I think I ended up tucking DS in my sleeping bag (although I know the FSID wouldn't advise anyone to do that): we were both lovely and snug. I ended up feeding him in there too, both of us lying down.
