Good stop offs on the M6

Any suggestions for camp sites that take camper vans about half way down england on the M6, perhaps near staffordshire. There is one at one of the service stations but it looked expensive and I thik I want to get a bit further off the motorway but not too far.

TIA

Tewkesbury is nice.
I think it's off the M6.
And i have no idea if there's a campsite.
Not sure why I'm posting.
I'm not helping.

Thanks so much .

I am just looking for a decent site to stop off at, don't need things to do really, we are driving from glasgowish to london and I thought I would stop overnight and test out my new van, won't be bothering with the awning just fling the mattress in the back this time. Along with a bloody good heater and the kettle .

OK, this isn't a personal rec but I looked at the map and I think given the distance you'd be best stopping just after Manchester rather than trudging on to Stafford.

This site at Winsford in Cheshire takes campervans and is not too far off the M6. The leg on to London would be about 3 hours.

If it has no vacancies you could search around on the site for more in the area.

Hmm I am wondering if I have gone to far down.

RAC has first leg as 5+ hrs then second bit as 2hrs22min

5 hours isn't too bad in a day - stop for a break after about 2½ hours and you're halfway to the campsite.

What time are you aiming to set off from Glasgow? You don't really want to be passing Manc between about 4pm & 7pm if you can help it!

Hope to set out early, but never manage to do it, but we should be past Manchester by 4 hopefully.

I am away at Uni just before, so I don't know whaen I am meant to pack and I have an assignment to finish before I go too.

no its a nature reserve type thing. Its just past Cannock on the way to stafford. There are a few ways to get to different parts of it

Its not a problem i think there might be a website for it, i know it has a heritage centre. I only know of it by my xp taking a detour on the way back from stafford through there so he could show me.
